At the Patchworkers and Quilters Guild (P’s & Q’s) this month, the guest speaker was not a patchworker, but a policeman! His talk focused on ways to stay safe in the home and while in the car. How dare any intruder interrupt our stitching time, so we paid attention getting ideas – so look out robbers, we’re prepared!
What guest speakers does your guild have – are they always patchworkers?
Having a squiz around the room this month saw …
Margery P’s ‘Origami Wreath’. Margery let us know that YouTube and blogs are a great source of ideas. Opinions varied – should it be for a vase, a candle, …what would you put in the middle?
Lyn W has finished her ‘Aussie’ (Australian) Christmas Stitchery – we’re getting closer to Christmas and hoping the weather will be kind. As you can see, it would be lovely if it turns out to be perfect beach weather on the day!
Chris C has created her own ‘Hawaiian’ design and is busy stitching it down. Her colours make me think she may be a Hawthorn supporter? (Australian Rules Football)
Robyn P is another ‘appliquer’ with a block from ‘Aunt Millie’s Garden’ by ‘Piece O’Cake Designs’.
Wendy F’s heading towards the finish line – her 18 month EPP (English Paper Piecing) project is at the border stage – and it’s only the top!
I wonder what next month will have to show …
